First game built at age 9 — skybox, water terrain, enemy AI, and the origin of the Xczer identity
A 9-year-old told his friends he could make games on his new laptop. He had zero game development knowledge. Rather than drop the bluff, he downloaded 3D RAD, worked through a PDF tutorial, and assembled a playable car-racing game with skybox, sculpted terrain, a water-crossing track, and AI opponent cars. After shipping it, the immediate next instinct was world-building — co-writing a multi-character game-story arc under school desks, naming the protagonist Xczer, the online handle still in use 17 years later.
3D RAD is a visual plugin-graph game engine — no code written, only components configured: vehicle physics plugin, AI opponent plugin, skybox renderer, terrain sculpt and paint tools, water-plane plugin. The game compiled to a local Windows executable. Community car models were sourced and imported; level design decisions (track routing, water placement) were made entirely by the author.
